Eventually we decide to just run when the timer hits a certain number, and we both got sniped in the escape but it still counted. So far the only loud heist we've completed on One Down is Mallcrasher, with all of us hiding in the clothing store on the second floor with Thanatoses, crossbows, RPGs and China Lakes. As for One Down, I think it's more of a gimmick difficulty than DW ever was.
